Samsung's New Foldables Launch August 7 with One UI 9 Built In

Samsung unveiled its newest foldable lineup at Galaxy Unpacked on July 22, 2026: the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8. All three ship with One UI 9, Samsung's latest software layer built on Android 17, running out of the box. The devices go on sale starting August 7, 2026.

What's new with One UI 9

One UI 9 stable debuted alongside the new foldables rather than as a separate rollout to existing devices, meaning early adopters of the Fold8 series and Flip8 get the newest software experience from day one. The update is built on Android 17 and represents Samsung's latest refinement of its foldable-specific interface, spanning multitasking, cover-screen behavior, and the usual round of Galaxy AI features.
